Update quickly now: Google is closing seven security gaps in Chrome

In the official announcement of the new version, Google developers provide an overview of four of the security vulnerabilities that have been fixed. These are a use-after-free vulnerability in the Angle component, which acts as a WebGL engine and could allow the execution of malicious code, as well as two other vulnerabilities of the same name in the Dawn and WebCodecs components.

Additionally, a type confusion in WebAssembly has been fixed, which is also a potential security risk. The updated versions have the numbers:

  • 123.0.6312.80 for Android
  • 123.0.6312.86 for Linux
  • 123.0.6312.86/.87 for macOS and Windows
