Upcoming Barca jewel Emre Demir admires real star Luka Modric: “I always try to see him play”
Emre Demir will play for FC Barcelona from summer 2022. The 17-year-old admires, among other things, a Real Madrid star.
Emre Demir, who will move from Turkish first division club Kayserispor to FC Barcelona in the summer of 2022, revealed in an interview that he is emulating a Real Madrid midfield star, among other things.
“He’s a great player,” said the 17-year-old attacking midfielder on Turkish journalist Ugur Karakullukcu’s YouTube channel of Luka Modric. “I always try to see him play,” he added to his praise for the Croatian world footballer of 2018.

Barca had bagged Demir’s commitment at the end of September and transfers two million euros to Kayserispor for the Turkish junior international. Demir celebrated his Süper Lig debut there in May 2019 at the age of 15, and so far he has made a total of 27 premier league appearances (one goal, one assist) for his home club.
Demir is already looking forward to his move to Barca in the summer of next year: “I try to watch every Barcelona game. I am very happy to be able to train and play alongside young stars like Ansu Fati, Yusuf Demir and Gavi. “
Meanwhile, one of his idols is Lionel Messi, who is known to have left Barca for Paris Saint-Germain last summer. “I would have loved to play with him on a team. For me he’s the best player in the world. I’ve always wanted to be like him since I was a child.”
