Which ice cream, which shirt, which school? Children today are allowed to make many decisions for themselves. It’s not always doing them a favor.

Now that summer is over, you can watch the drama again at every ice cream parlor. The queues are long, the temperatures are high and the appetite is great, even for the small child who is just pressing his nose against the glass in front of the 40 varieties and who is about to be there with his mother. “What do you want, Quirin?” “That there. And the one with the sprinkles. And Smurf Blue!” But the mother only wants to buy one ball, she knows that the child will not be able to do any more. But the three-year-old can’t make up his mind, it takes a while, those behind grumble annoyed. In the end, it doesn’t matter whether the little one pulls out with Smurf Blue in a waffle cone, or crumble ice cream in a bowl, or a monster cup of all three varieties: everyone is guaranteed to be dissatisfied, mother, child and the rest of the customers.
