Unterschleißheim – Gregor Gysi as a guest – district of Munich

As exciting as it is when Gregor Gysi talks about his eventful life as a lawyer, politician, author or father – at his performance this Friday, March 4th, at the community center in Unterschleißheim, the audience should be at least as interested in what the opinionated and eloquent left-wing politician has to say about the war in Ukraine and the associated crisis of meaning and identity in his party. In a letter which, among other things, mirror is available, the foreign policy spokesman and former parliamentary group leader this week sharply criticized the attitude of Sahra Wagenknecht and six other members of the Left Party parliamentary group, and in some cases accused them of “complete lack of emotion” in relation to the suffering of the Ukrainians. Unlike Wagenknecht, Gysi, who for a long time carried the ambivalently flattering attribute of “Putin understander,” has clearly distanced himself from the Russian interpretation, which blames NATO for the military escalation. (Wagenknecht, who after all had condemned the Russian war of aggression, countered on Twitter and more or less accused Gysi of “character assassination”).

The evening is officially called “Personal” and Gysi, who is one of the most dazzling political personalities of the past decades, will shape it in conversation with the journalist Hans-Dieter Schütt. The event on Friday is not part of the classic cultural program, even if it is said to pay homage to rhetoric.

But that undoubtedly applies to the other performances that the Forum Unterschleißheim is still presenting in March – and they also promise top-class performances: Bavarian (music) cabaret with Martin Frank (March 10) or Helmut A. Binser (March 11). commanded and Austrian joke with BlöZinger (March 18). In addition, gripping live music with “Dreiviertelblut” (March 12) and the Bananafishbones (March 19) – both bands are characterized by the deep, characteristic voice of singer Sebastian Horn. There are also other events such as the charming crime comedy “Acht Frauen” (also known from the François Ozon film of the same name) on March 29 and the show “Breakin’ Mozart (classic meets breakdance) on March 31. Already presented this Thursday Cabaret artist and poet Michael Fedler his program “Your location is being calculated”.
