Unterhaching: Monika Datz receives award from the municipality – district of Munich

In order to receive the Citizens’ Medal and the Badge of Honor in gold from the municipality of Unterhaching, you have to have made a very special contribution to the common good. This undoubtedly applies to Monika Datz, and when Mayor Wolfgang Panzer read out some data on the commitment of the now 84-year-olds at the ceremony before the start of the last municipal council meeting of the year, he was visibly impressed himself: Monika Datz has been in charge for about 42 years directed by the neighborhood help. “An extraordinary period of time, she has put her stamp on the neighborhood help,” said Panzer and continued: “She has made an extraordinary, admirable and outstanding contribution to the well-being of the citizens and the reputation of the community and never wanted to be in the spotlight herself stand.” Monika Datz was a single mother of three herself and had a full-time job in Munich. In addition to helping out in the neighborhood, she was always involved in the music school, at the EC Parksee and in local politics. If the neighborhood aids Unterhaching and Taufkirchen hadn’t recently merged, Monika Datz would have continued. “Helping so many people has always inspired me,” she said and promised: “I’ll stay with the community, I still have various posts.”
