Despite a large registration campaign in his home community and numerous online calls, no suitable genetic twin has yet been found. The Unterhaching regional football league team, which Maurer has supported as a fan for a long time, now wants to get involved in the search for a stem cell donor. As part of the home game this Saturday (2 p.m.) against FC Schweinfurt 05, there will be a big registration campaign. Under the motto “SpVgg Unterhaching for Fritzi”, all healthy people between the ages of 17 and 55 can be typed at the DKMS stand next to the fan shop at the main entrance to the stadium.
The Hachinger footballers set a good example, the entire squad has already registered. And trainer Sandro Wagner posted an emotional video on the Internet in which he called for people to be typed. “Helping others is very important in the club philosophy of the game association,” says club president Manfred Schwabl, referring to the charity initiative “Haching looks at it,” which the club has outsourced to its own club.
