Unterföhring – Integration prize for the helpers’ group – district of Munich

The Unterfoehringer helpers’ group for refugees was awarded the integration prize by the government of Upper Bavaria on Monday. The prize, which was awarded for the 14th time this year, is endowed with 1000 euros. In addition to the work of the Unterföhringer, the commitment of five other initiatives from Feldkirchen-Westerham, Landsberg, the city of Munich, Rosenheim and Weßling was also recognized. At a ceremony, Bavaria’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann, District President Konrad Schober and District Vice-President Sabine Kahle-Sander (all CSU) praised the importance of the award winners’ commitment as exemplary. They lived the “solidarity commitment as a cornerstone of social cohesion”. Herrmann is quoted as saying in a press release from the government of Upper Bavaria that it is now more evident than ever how important it is to campaign with great energy for liberal, democratic and Christian values. The award winners were selected from a total of 27 projects by a jury chaired by Government Vice President Kahle-Sander and with the participation of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.
