Unknown perpetrators blow up ATMs in Zapfendorf near Bamberg – Bavaria

In Zapfendorf near Bamberg, the ATM of a Sparkasse branch was blown up on Tuesday night. At least two perpetrators then fled in a black Audi in the direction of the highway, as the State Criminal Police Office announced on Tuesday. More detailed investigations of the explosives used are to be carried out in the forensic institute of the LKA in the coming days. The number of ATM blasts in Bavaria has recently increased again. Most of the perpetrators come from the Netherlands. They often steal large sums of money and flee in fast, previously rented cars. According to LKA information, around one million euros were stolen from 14 blasts in Bavaria last year.
