United States: US President Joe Biden again tested positive for Covid-19

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, once again tested positive for Covid-19 this Saturday, July 30, the White House announced in a press release.

Twice in less than ten days. US President Joe Biden tested positive for Covid-19 again on Saturday morning without showing symptoms, and will return to solitary confinement to “protect” those around him, his personal doctor announced in a letter broadcast by the White House.

The 79-year-old president “tested positive late Saturday morning in an antigen test” and “will be resuming strict containment measures,” Dr. Kevin O’Connor wrote, noting that cases of Positive “rebounds” are common among people treated with Paxlovid, Pfizer’s anti-Covid pill.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor also clarified “that this is indeed rebound positivity”, since the American president had tested negative “Tuesday evening, Wednesday evening, Thursday morning and Friday morning”.

However, he assured that Joe Biden “did not experience a re-emergence of symptoms and continues to feel completely well”. The president is therefore not prescribed “to resume treatment at this stage”, although he will remain under observation.

As a reminder, Joe Biden, who is the oldest president ever elected in the United States, tested positive on July 21, and suffered only from “very mild symptoms”. He was released from confinement on Wednesday after testing negative.
