Novak Djokovic won in three sets on Tuesday against the Czech Jiri Lehecka in the group stage of the United Cup (6-1, 6-7, 6-1) but gave up the mixed doubles due to pain in a wrist. Serbia, however, won against the Czech Republic (2-1). In the women’s singles, the Czech Marketa Vondrousova beat Olga Danilovic (6-1, 3-6, 6-3), but the Serbian mixed doubles, composed of Danilovic and Hamad Medkedovic, gave the victory to the Serbs against the pair Miriam Kolodziejová /Roman Jebavý (4-6, 7-6 (7/2), 10-8).
Novak Djokovic, who had largely dominated the first set with his singles, lost the second in the deciding game and then had to request a medical timeout to have his right wrist treated.
