Uniswap Labs, the main developer of the Uniswap decentralized exchange protocol, said Tuesday: The company has acquired Genie, an NFT Marketplace Aggregator.

Uniswap will integrate NFT with APIs and developer widgets to provide a “comprehensive … for users and creators in web3”.
“We see NFTs as another form of value in the growing digital economy—not an ecosystem separate from ERC20—and also a major gateway to web3,” Uniswap said in a statement.
The acquisition will not affect other Uniswap products such as the Uniswap Protocol, Uniswap Governance or UNI Tokens, with Genie users still able to access the Marketplace website until the new Uniswap NFT becomes available.
As part of the acquisition, Uniswap will distribute USDC airdrops to Genie users using the marketplace more than once before April 15, or to GENIE:GEM NFT holders.
