In the preliminary discussions for the federal-state summit with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), the Union-led federal states, together with the Green Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg, Winfried Kretschmann, agreed that in the future asylum procedures should be possible directly in countries outside of Europe.
