Unilever splits off ice cream business with “Langnese” and “Magnum” – Economy

As part of a savings program, Unilever wants to spin off its ice cream business into an independent company. The spin-off of brands such as “Langnese”, “Magnum” and “Ben & Jerry’s” should be completed by the end of 2025, the consumer goods giant, which also offers “Axe” deodorant and “Omo” detergent, announced on Tuesday.

The British group expects the transaction to generate future sales growth in the mid-single-digit percentage range as well as a moderate improvement in profit margins.

At the same time, Unilever presented a savings program that is intended to reduce costs by a total of around 800 million euros over the next three years. The restructuring of the company will affect 7,500 of the approximately 128,000 jobs worldwide. The company did not provide any details on this for the time being.
