Veterinary medicine student Tanja Wurzer took off her clothes and posed with animals for her faculty’s calendar. A conversation about pictures with snails, sexualization of women and whether her grandma will hang the work.
Others crowdfund, sell cakes or ask relatives for a grant to finance their prom. The veterinary students at LMU have come up with something different. They posed naked in front of the camera with a variety of animals. They took buzzing honeycombs in their hands, let tarantulas crawl over their skin or took photos of themselves with oxen in the pasture. The result is two calendars, one with pictures of women and animals, the other also with men. 700 copies were printed. Tanja Wurzer can also be seen in some of the photos. The 24-year-old wants to become a rural veterinarian, she says in a clear voice, and will treat cattle and pigs after her exams. In the one-room apartment she lives in Munich, however, the dimensions are a little smaller: she keeps a guinea pig here.
