Undressed and made up as a bull, the actress Marie Cornillon is committed against bullfighting

His performance did not go unnoticed on Wednesday in front of the arenas of Nîmes (Gard). The actress Marie Cornillon, naked and made up as a bull, demanded the abolition of bullfighting, in front of the Roman amphitheater. The capital of Gard is one of the towns that still regularly hosts bullfighting shows.

At the initiative of the Peta France association, committed against cruelty to animals, the 24-year-old young woman, who we saw in The good wife Where Lupine, stood alongside the statue of bullfighter Nimeno II, his body painted. “It is a cruel practice, confided Marie Cornillon. Bulls deserve to live in peace and to be respected. »

A “vital bill”

Peta had organized this performance while the law commission of the National Assembly was considering, Wednesday, the bill of Aymeric Caron (Nupes) to abolish bullfighting. If the parliamentarians opposed the text for the first time, this rejection will not prevent its examination, scheduled for November 24, in the hemicycle.

“Peta, whose motto says in particular that “the animals do not belong to us and [que] we don’t have to use them for our entertainment”, and which opposes speciesism, an ideology postulating a false superiority of humans over other animals to justify their exploitation, encourages those who oppose it to write to their deputies, to ask them to support this vital bill”, writes the association.
