The name FIFA is gone, but the successor EA SPORTS FC 24 will have the popular Ultimate Team mode. In contrast to the past few years, however, a lot has happened here.

With EA SPORTS FC 24, Electronic Arts is reinventing itself to a certain extent, while continuing to hold on to the successes of the FIFA series. Accordingly, it should come as no surprise that the company will also offer the Ultimate Team mode in EA FC 24. However, this has been heavily revised or offers a more extensive experience than the last few years together.

SPORT1 was invited to present EA SPORTS FC 24 by Electronic Arts.

Women & mixed teams possible!

Even before the announcement by Electronic Arts, there was speculation on the internet as to whether Ultimate Team’s “women’s revolution” would take place this year. In fact, EA didn’t hesitate and let the cat out of the bag quite early: With EA SPORTS FC 24, players will be available for the first time. But that’s not all, the players of EA FC 24 are able to set up mixed teams for the first time. Of course, teams made up entirely of female professionals are also no problem.

The fact that this is possible at all is due to the numerous “new signings” of EAs. Some women’s leagues were already included in FIFA 23, but these are now being expanded to include League F, Spain, and the German women’s Bundesliga. Female players will be found alongside male players in the various UT packs going forward.

Ultimate evolution

At Ultimate Team, everyone out there probably wants to have the best team out on the field. But sometimes there are one or two players who you don’t want to swap for Ronaldo or Messi despite their poorer ratings. This is where UT Evolution is to be used in the future. Thanks to this mechanic, poorer cards should be kept better playable over time. In this way, an 80s gold player can possibly be developed into an 87s soccer god. Exactly how it works will be revealed by Electronic Arts in the near future.
