For more than five years, Ulrike Demmer, as deputy government spokeswoman, experienced the everyday life of ex-Chancellor Angela Merkel up close. In the eighth episode of starpodcasts “ÜberMerkel – Familiar Stories” she reports from inside the Chancellery – and from very human moments.

The everyday life of a Federal Chancellor is long – and sometimes exhausting: 16-hour days, appointments from morning to evening, a constant flow of information. Conducting conversations, shaking hands, reading files, giving speeches – often in the public eye.
