Ulrich Wilhelm becomes head of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum – Kultur

The former government spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm becomes chairman of the board of directors of the Germanisches Nationalmuseum (GNM) in Nuremberg. The journalist and lawyer will begin his three-year term on January 1, 2022, the GNM announced on Tuesday. From 2011 to 2021 Wilhelm was the director of Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich. He had previously headed the Federal Press Office in Berlin and was spokesman for the federal government under Chancellor Angela Merkel. Ulrich Wilhelm was also ARD chairman from 2018 to 2019. As chairman of the GNM board of directors, he succeeds Klaus-Dieter Lehmann.
