Explosions were heard overnight on the annexed Black Sea peninsula of Crimea. A Russian warship is said to have been hit and sunk, according to Ukrainian intelligence.

On the southern coast of the annexed peninsula According to Ukrainian intelligence reports, a ship from the Russian Black Sea Fleet was seriously damaged and sunk in Crimea. The Ukrainians attacked the landing ship “Zesar Kunikov” not far from the city of Alupka with sea drones of the type “Magura V5”, said the HUR military intelligence service in Kiev.

The agency also released a video purporting to show the moment of the attack. The extent of the damage could not initially be independently verified.

So far there has been no reaction from the Russian side. In the morning, the Russian Defense Ministry only reported six Ukrainian drones that were allegedly successfully shot down over the Black Sea during the night.

Ukraine has been defending itself against a full-scale Russian invasion for almost two years. The Ukrainian military has already sunk or at least seriously damaged Russian warships with missiles and maritime drones on several occasions. The Russian Black Sea Fleet has now been largely pushed out of the western part of the Black Sea.
