The Moscow Stock Exchange was scheduled to reopen on Wednesday. Given the sanctions against Russia, further losses are likely to be massive. But stock trading remains closed.

The Moscow stock exchange remains closed after Russia invaded Ukraine. Also this Wednesday, no company shares would be traded on the most important Russian marketplace, the stock exchange announced on Tuesday in Moscow.

Trading in Russian stocks should resume this Wednesday after the holidays in Russia. The stock exchange has been closed for more than ten days after Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the order to invade Ukraine.

After the last day the Moscow stock exchange was open on February 25, the shares of Russian companies initially lost a lot of value before they were suspended from trading last Thursday. A number of exchange-traded index funds with Russian stocks are also currently not being traded. In addition, some global index providers such as MSCI want to ban Russian stocks from their indices.
