Around four and a half weeks after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, negotiators from the two countries are making a new attempt at peace talks. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed the delegations in Istanbul in the morning.
Russian media published photos showing that the oligarch Roman Abramovich was present at the welcome in Istanbul.

Also the British BBC reportedthat Abramovich was present at the negotiations. He was seen talking to the Turkish President.
The billionaire is said to have good contacts with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was revealed on Monday that Abramovich and two Ukrainian negotiators may have been the target of a poison attack after attending a meeting in Kyiv.
