Moscow is asking China for military and economic aid – they are holding back. The US President’s National Security Advisor is warning Beijing not to change that. But the influence of the USA on China is small.

According to US officials, after the start of the war in Ukraine, Russia asked the Chinese leadership for military and economic assistance. So far it is not known how or if China reacted to Moscow’s requests. When asked about Russia’s alleged call for help, a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Washington said: “I’ve never heard of that.” The Foreign Ministry in Beijing spoke of “disinformation” on Monday.
