Ukraine-News: Federal Network Agency sees different signals on gas deliveries from Moscow

“Honestly, no one knows!” Replies with such disarming honesty Klaus Müller, head of the Federal Network Agency, to the question in the ZDF morning show how gas deliveries through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline will continue in the future.
According to Müller, there are different signals from Moscow on this question. On the one hand, there are statements by Kremlin spokesmen that, in combination with the promised delivery of a serviced Siemens turbine from Canada, significantly more gas can be delivered again. On the other hand, there were also very martial announcements.

In the worst case, if Russia stops gas deliveries through Nord Stream 1 even after the maintenance from this Monday, there are several scenarios in which Germany could fall into a gas emergency slide. It depends on several factors, such as the procurement of terminals for liquid gas and how quickly you can save gas, says Müller. From the point of view of the Federal Network Agency, it is also important to prevent a north-south divide in Germany in terms of gas supply. The storage facilities in the south would therefore be filled in a targeted manner.
