Ukraine-News: Chancellor Scholz promises Ukraine security guarantees after the end of the war

For the first time since the beginning of the war there have been deportations from Germany to Russia. Specifically, two men aged 22 and 56 were returned by air, according to the Bavarian State Office for Asylum and Repatriations at the request of the German Press Agency. This was already done in mid-February and mid-March.

According to a “Tagesschau” report, the two men were first taken to Serbia and from there by plane to Moscow. Both had been in Bavaria for years. In one case, there was a legally rejected asylum application from February 2020, it said when asked. In the second case, entry had already taken place in 2014, but no application for asylum was made at any time. The man has now been expelled for several serious crimes.

Because of the war, deportations to Russia are particularly difficult to carry out, since there are no direct flight connections from the EU to Russia.
