The Russian Ministry of Defense has now confirmed the drone attack on Moscow: four drones were destroyed by the air defenses, another was electronically disabled and crashed over the Odintsovo area, the ministry announced, according to the state agency TASS. There were no dead or injured. Like Mayor Sobyanin, the Ministry of Defense blames Ukraine for the attack and speaks of an “attempted terrorist attack by the Kiev regime.”
The Odintsovo region, over which one of the drones crashed, is near Wunukowo. According to the Russian aviation authority, flight operations resumed at 8 a.m. Moscow time (7 a.m. CEST). One of the destroyed drones is said to have crashed on a military site in the suburb of Kubinka west of Wunukowo, according to the state agency TASS from rescue services.
