Ukraine: Klitschko for quick arms delivery from Germany – politics

Vitali Klitschko, mayor of Kiev, experiences his city under constant fire. But he believes in a Ukrainian victory against Russia. In the interview, Klitschko calls for more weapons from Germany and explains why he has not spoken to President Zelenskiy for a year and a half.

Vitali Klitschko is nervous. He says he always is when he’s on a business trip and not at home in Kiev. As if he could personally protect the Ukrainian capital, which is so often attacked by Russian drones and missiles. The former boxing world champion has been mayor of Kiev since 2014. In Münster, at the first Westphalian Peace Conference, the 52-year-old not only campaigned for his city, but also for arms deliveries to Ukraine. They’re just not going fast enough for him.
