Josep Borrell seemed to have one goal: before the meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU states in Brussels, the EU foreign policy chief, known for flippant remarks, wanted to avoid anything that could cast doubt on the unity of the West in dealing with Russia. Borrell found the coordination with the United States to be “perfect,” which the video conference call with Foreign Minister Antony Blinken on Monday afternoon should prove. Blinken wanted to report on his meeting with the Russian Sergei Lavrov on Friday in Geneva.
