Ukraine – Aid transports are on the way from the district. – District of Munich

The help for the people in the Ukraine and for those who have fled from there is unbroken in the district of Munich. Numerous fundraising campaigns and transports of relief supplies have been started in the past few days. “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the great willingness to help, the good cooperation between the clubs and the support from the community, parish and fire brigade,” says Marion Seitz from the “Hand in Hand” association in Aschheim.

The people of Aschheim bought a lot of groceries so that the van was filled to the brim. “People just lent a hand without further ado, and children wanted to help until the end, despite the cold,” reports Seitz. People would have provided the helpers with cakes, and a number of companies also donated money. Two trucks, one with a trailer, left the market square in Aschheim on Saturday afternoon to take the goods to Caritas in Hungary. “Hand in Hand” promises: “Another trip is being considered, because a number of donations in kind were also stored.” Several minibuses, Sprinters and the transport truck of the Aschheim fire brigade had previously been used by the Erding refugee aid organization.

In Unterhaching, among others, the “Haching helps” initiative of some business people organized aid transports with the support of the moving company Ritter. As a car-sharing project partner, Sixt provided the municipality with vans free of charge. A convoy set off for the Ukrainian-Polish border area at the weekend. The freight will be reloaded there and taken directly to the war zone, where the relief supplies are needed immediately and urgently, the community said. Finally, an emergency generator could even be taken on the trip. Unterhaching accepts donations from the Bürgerstiftung Unterhaching Worth Living in order to buy medical equipment, medicines and bandages and also bring them directly to the crisis area.

In Haar, the FDP draws attention to the helper group “Refugee Aid for 4 Paws”, which takes care of taking in pets that were brought with them when fleeing Ukraine. Information can be obtained from the Gabriela Berg veterinary practice at [email protected].
