The British chair-back goes into the next round. Home Secretary Suella Braverman has resigned from office. Prime Minister Liz Truss has lost the second cabinet member in just a few days.

British Prime Minister Liz Truss is separating from Home Secretary Suella Braverman The conservative politician confirmed the corresponding reports on Wednesday via Twitter.

Braverman gave “a technical breach” of confidentiality rules as the reason for her resignation. She forwarded an official document from her personal email address to a “trusted parliamentary colleague,” Braverman wrote. Much of it was already known, but it was “right for me to go”.

However, Braverman also criticized the government’s course in the letter. Important promises to voters have been broken, and she also has “great concerns about this government’s commitment to our election platform, such as limiting the total number of immigrants and stopping illegal migration, particularly dangerous boat crossings,” Braverman said.

Ex-Transport Secretary Grant Shapps acted as his successor

There has been speculation that former Transport Secretary Grant Shapps could become Home Secretary. Braverman belonged to the extreme right wing of the party and was a frequent contributor to comments on her plans to toughen up deportations. She recently railed against “tofu-eating” leftists in parliament.

It would be the second change in an important department within six days. Truss fired her Treasury Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng on Friday and replaced her with former Secretary of State Jeremy Hunt. The conservative head of government is fighting for office after she triggered financial chaos with planned tax breaks and had to turn around.
