The consumer association announced in a statement Tuesday that it had filed a complaint with the Paris public prosecutor against the operator. She accuses him of “deceptive commercial practices” on a mobile offer without commitment and without any term condition, launched between January 2018 and December 2019. Called RED by SFR, the commercial offer also announced the maintenance “for life” of the initial price subscribed packages.

But according to UFC-Que Choisir, between September and December 2020, SFR made an “about-face” and “Authoritatively increases” the price of these packages with, “depending on the case”, price increases ranging from “30% to 75% of the initial price”. “For UFC-Que Choisir, the practices implemented by SFR are clearly misleading: SFR has knowingly misled consumers by making maintaining the initial price of RED by SFR packages over time the strong argument to convince consumers. consumers to swell the ranks of its subscribers, ”says the association.

If SFR is called into question, “the fact remains that the practice of tariff increases for offers without commitment and without condition of duration is becoming widespread, the operators not seeming to be concerned about the misleading nature of their practices in view of the financial gains obtained, ”she adds.

The UFC-Que Choisir had already obtained in the past 30,000 euros in damages from SFR for the inclusion in its general conditions of clauses deemed “unlawful and abusive”, a decision confirmed in April 2018 by the Court of Appeal of Paris.
