Game News Ubisoft Forward: all the info on the 4 games Assassin’s Creed, Skull and Bones, Just Dance, Mario + The Rabbids, Ubisoft +…

Absent from the conferences at the start of the summer, Ubisoft has chosen to go it alone with its own event. Perhaps you were in front of the ZEvent 2022, in which case you missed the many information shared this evening. Luckily, we’re here to recap the biggest announcements from the Ubisoft Forward.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Mirage, Red… A loaded showcase

Let’s start at the end. Indeed, tonight’s Ubisoft Forward ended with a special showcase dedicated to a license that celebrates its 15th anniversary this year: Assassin’s Creed. And the least we can say is that Ubisoft’s iconic franchise has not finished talking about it in the months and even years to come. If Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is going to offer itself a final free extension, it is above all on Assassin’s Creed Mirage what all the expectations will be.

Thought as a return to basics, this opus a little apart will take us to Baghdad to embody Basim (seen in Valhalla). From wanderer to member of the Hidden Ones brotherhood, we will follow his progress through a more linear adventure than in the last Assassin’s Creed and centered around three pillars: the stealthparkour and assassination. During this Assassin’s Creed Showcase, no gameplay on the horizon, but many details that you can find in our dedicated article. You will even discover some other details provided by Stéphane Boudon, Creative Director on the game (Ubisoft Bordeaux). Note thatAssassin’s Creed Mirage will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series sometime in 2023.

But that’s not all. Ubisoft even detailed the future of the license more generally. On the program, we find a fruitful partnership with Netflix, an open world mobile game, but above all two new titles which will be released on the famous Assassin’s Creed Infinity, the future hub dedicated to the franchise. He will first welcome Assassin’s Codename Red, a game set in the time of feudal Japan (a period particularly awaited by players) and immersing us in the skin of a shinobi.

With Assassin’s Creed Hexe, the license will then offer us a very different and darker game which should a priori take us for a ride on the side of the witches. For the moment, no exit window. It will simply be necessary to be satisfied with short teasers before knowing more about these two projects.

Skull and Bones, Mario + The Rabbids Sparks of Hope… Rumors were true

Besides Assassin’s Creed, we knew that Ubisoft would tell us a little more about two games coming this year: Skull and Bones and Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. And it was the second that first appeared. We were of course entitled to a little more gameplay, but above all to a better vision of the future of the game. Scheduled for October 20, the title intends to last over time. It will indeed offer an Season Pass with no less than three DLC planned for the moment. And the last will welcome a distinguished guest since Rayman will become a playable character thanks to him.

As for Skull and Bones, we were also able to enjoy new gameplay. The latter has enabled us to know more about the pirates’ lair, this place specific to each player which allows to launch quests or to upgrade his boat. But what should be remembered from this moment devoted to the game of piracy is above all this very good news: the title will be cross-play. PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One players will therefore be able to set off together to sail the waves. And for that, see you on November 8th.

Just Dance, Netflix, Trackmania… Surprises

The Ubisoft Forward lasted about an hour and a half. You can imagine that with such a long conference, we also had the right to surprise announcements, although some were expected. This is particularly the case of Just Dance 2023 Edition, the next installment of the license. On the program, there are new songs of course, but above all a new multiplayer mode to connect players from all over the world. Note that this opus is scheduled for November 22 on Nintendo Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series (later on Google Stadia). We also had news of Trackmania which will arrive on consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series and Xbox One) at the beginning of 2023.

Free-to-play Tom Clancy’s The Division: Heartland also took advantage of this evening to show themselves in pictures. Enough to delight fans of the license who will be able to discover the small town of Silver Creek for free. No release date, but note that you can already register for the test phases if you feel like it. Just as it will be possible to have access to a closed beta from the fall for Resurgencea new The Division title for mobile this time around.

And mobile games, there will be on the side of Ubisoft in the months and years to come. If we mentioned Assassin’s Creed Codename Jade above, know that Rainbow Six Siege will soon offer a mobile version. Again, no release date but a closed beta in the fall. And then it is important to talk about the big partnership with Netflix which will give life to three mobile games exclusive to the platform (an Assassin’s Creed game, Might Quest 2 and Unknown Soldiers 2) but also to series, including a live-action in the AC universe.

The Ubisoft Forward has also reserved a whole section of service for us with the Ubisoft+ which seems to want to enter the big leagues. Large catalog, games available Day One and free month, Ubisoft gives everything to compete with Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus. During the pre-show, note that Ubisoft unveiled two independent games that should also join the catalog upon their release, namely Second Stone and Two Falls.
