Typically German: Ventilate until you get fresh air – Munich

Quite a few people in this country tend to open their windows to ventilate, even in winter. Our author always resisted this, but now admits: There are good reasons.

First I moved and suddenly it moved. I was finally able to move from the asylum seekers’ home to an apartment. It was nice, cozy and warm. I no longer received visits from security, but from my neighbor. It was winter, so I turned up the heat so that my visitors would be warm. But when I came back from the kitchen, I almost fell out of my slippers: my guest had opened a window. Should I give it a breath of fresh air?
