Two ten-year-olds in the track area: railway line closed – Ebersberg

Federal police officers picked up two ten-year-olds between the Baldham and Zorneding S-Bahn stations on Wednesday evening. The Munich – Rosenheim railway line has therefore been closed, as the press office of the Federal Police in Munich announced on Thursday. Accordingly, the children had previously climbed a railway power pole. The police handed them over safely to their legal guardians.

When the emergency control center of Deutsche Bahn reported the children at around 5:25 p.m., the railway line was immediately blocked in both directions, according to the police – trains and S-Bahn trains between Munich and Rosenheim were held back at stations and stops as far as possible. In addition, the power of the approximately 15,000 volt overhead line was switched off.

After the federal police officers took the two ten-year-olds, emergency services used a helicopter to search the route over a large area to make sure that there were no other children in the area. The road closure was lifted shortly after 6 p.m.

The Federal Police urgently warns of the dangers in the railway area. There is acute danger to life both on the track and on power poles.
