Two people were seriously injured in a traffic accident on the airport ring road on Monday afternoon. The collision between a truck and a passenger car occurred around 1:25 p.m. between the junction to the A94 and Markt Schwaben.
According to uninvolved witnesses, shortly after the bridge construction of the local connecting road between Poing and Anzing, the car suddenly turned left onto the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the oncoming truck. The 35-year-old truck driver, who was slightly injured, could no longer avoid it. The collision threw the car into the ditch, seriously injuring the two men in it. They were trapped in the car and had to be freed by firefighters. Both vehicles involved came from the district or the city of Munich. The damage caused is estimated at several 10,000 euros.
The state road had to be closed, traffic was directed past the scene of the accident by the emergency services. A long backlog formed.
