Two police officers kill a man armed with a knife at the Gare du Nord

A man threatened two police officers with a knife this Monday morning at the Gare du Nord in Paris. The two officers fired back, according to a police source.

No remarks of a terrorist nature were made. At the microphone Apolline de Malherbe on RMC this Monday morning, the Minister Delegate for Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebbari declared that the terrorist track is “a priori at this stage” dismissed.

“A priori, it is someone who is known to the police to wander in the station. He allegedly assaulted them with a knife, which led the police to use their weapon. I have no more information than that, ”added the minister.

Gérald Darmanin confirms the attack on Twitter.

Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirmed the facts in a tweet. The Minister took the opportunity to salute the action of the police who “removed all danger for themselves and for travelers”.

The man died of his injuries.
