Two police officers and two individuals injured during an intervention

A police intervention turns badly in Seine-Saint-Denis. The facts took place in Stains on the night of Sunday to Monday. Around 1:30 am, a crew of the BAC (anti-crime brigade) stops to control a vehicle occupied by a man and a passenger, boulevard Maxime Gorki. According to a source close to the investigation, the car comes to a stop near the police, but then reverses to try to escape control. One of the officials then tries to enter the passenger compartment of the vehicle to stop it, but it moves forward, according to this source.

An amateur video, broadcast and widely shared on social networks, shows the two agents then repeatedly firing at the car, with their service weapon.

The vital prognosis of engaged passengers

Injured, the passengers in the car were “transported to hospital with a life-threatening prognosis,” said Laëtitia Vallar, spokesperson for the police headquarters, in an online video. The two police officers “also injured” during the operation “were taken to hospital”, she added.

The IGPN (General Inspectorate of the National Police) was seized of the investigation, opened for “refusal to comply” and “attempted homicide on a person holding public authority”, told AFP on Bobigny parquet. The judicial police of Seine-Saint-Denis were jointly seized.
