Two people indicted after the double murder in a lodge

Two people have been indicted for “organized gang murders”, after a double homicide in a cottage in Isère, the Lyon prosecutor’s office announced on Thursday. “Two people were presented by the Lyon public prosecutor’s office today (Thursday) with a view to their indictment on the counts of murders in an organized gang and association of criminals with a view to the preparation of crimes of murder in an organized gang”, specified the prosecution to AFP.

Following their indictment, the first person was placed under judicial supervision while the second was placed in pre-trial detention. The investigations are now continuing under the authority of an investigating judge from the interregional jurisdiction of Lyon (JIRS) specializing in organized crime.

Sunday afternoon, two people were found dead in a cottage in Châtonnay. “Although their identity has not yet been established, they could be two individuals of Turkish nationality”, explained the public prosecutor of Vienna Audrey Quey in a press release.

Privileged “track of settling accounts”

The first body was hit twelve times, mainly in the chest and head. The second was hit by a single bullet in the chest, according to the prosecution. A handgun was found under one of the bodies. “At this stage, the track of the settlement of accounts is privileged,” said the prosecutor.

The gendarmes had been “warned by a witness called by a third 27-year-old man present on the spot at the time of the events” and who had been placed in police custody. The Vienna public prosecutor’s office had relinquished the case in favor of the JIRS. The three men had arrived Friday evening in the lodging of this commune of 2,100 inhabitants. “They would have entered the national territory with false Bulgarian identity papers,” added Quey.
