The fire took place late Wednesday afternoon at the elementary school of the Marcel-Pagnol school group in Meyzieu, near Lyon. On site, firefighters were able to control the flames without preventing the destruction of two classes.
They also noted four fires starting, as well as at the rear of the building. The origin of the fire would be criminal, according to Progress. Two minors were arrested and taken into police custody. An investigation was opened by the Lyon public prosecutor’s office for intentional damage by fire.
