The origins of the brawl still remain mysterious but police and firefighters are convinced, the tragedy was narrowly avoided. In the night from Saturday to Sunday, around 3:30 a.m., under the Pont-Neuf, in the heart of the 1st arrondissement of Paris, a 23-year-old man was stabbed three times in the buttocks and his two friends, aged 20 and 22 years old, were pushed into the Seine by a group of fifteen individuals, learned on Monday 20 minutes corroborating sources, confirming information from the Parisian.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the three victims, from Val-de-Marne, were with three other friends on the quai Georges Pompidou when the other group came to meet them. One of the victims assured investigators that they wanted to steal their belongings, one of his friends said that the fight would have broken out “spontaneously”. According to the latter, a few minutes after the start of the fight, one of his friends was lying in a large pool of blood while his two other comrades were thrown into the water.

Their days are not in danger

Immediately informed, the firefighters recovered the two young men unharmed. “The Seine is much more dangerous than most people think. There are very strong currents, the water is frozen and at night, in addition, it could have really ended badly, ”insists a source close to the investigation. The three victims – the young man with a buttock injury and his two friends – were quickly transported to hospital without their lives being in danger.

“For the moment, we cross-check the different versions,” continues this source. The images of the CCTV cameras are particularly scrutinized to try to understand the course of this brawl and try to apprehend the suspects. The group of about fifteen people quickly fled in the direction of Concorde. The knife of the assault was also not found.
