Two lovers, one thought.
Flint and Sarah-Jean, a couple from Orange County, California, independently had the same plan.
In 2022, they went to their favorite track to skate with their roller derby team.
The route runs along Long Beach and ends at the Lions Lighthouse. Both of them had secretly invited their friends and family and a photographer there.
“When we got there, I noticed that there were people I hadn’t invited. Then I noticed a second photographer and got suspicious.” -Flint
Unbeknownst to each other, both had decided to use this place for something very special.
Flint kneels down and asks for his girlfriend’s hand. The next moment, Sarah-Jean does the same and proposes to Flint.
“As she got on her knees my first thought was that she bought the same ring box I did and I knew right away it was going to be perfect.” – Flint
The couple were engaged for two weeks before getting married the following month.
“We eloped and got married in an old courthouse. Right after that, we strapped on our roller skates and took a spin around the courthouse, then it was off to the first dance.” -Flint
