Following the incidents that occurred on Friday evening, after the announcement of the verdict concerning the death of Axelle Dorier, the Lyon prosecutor’s office announced that it had opened two investigations in order to shed light on various excesses, noted in the ranks of the civil parties but also among the relatives of the two accused.
As a reminder, Youcef Tebbal, the driver of the car that hit and then dragged the victim 807 meters, was sentenced to 12 years in prison. That is three years less than the sentence demanded by the Advocate General. His passenger and cousin Mohamed Yelloule was sentenced to two years in prison without a warrant.

At the announcement of these sentences, a woman standing on the side of the families of the accused screamed then became unwell before being evacuated from the room. What did not support one of the two twin brothers of Axelle who headed for an exit from the courtroom. An investigation was opened for “public provocation to hatred or violence” and for “voluntary degradation”.
“I asked him if he had done that. He answered me: “Never!” And that he had this gesture to say “Get the hell out of me”, reacted his lawyer Gabriel Versini-Bullara, who did not see the scene.
Police officers molested by relatives of the accused
In addition, clashes took place in the salle des pas perdus, this time involving relatives of the two defendants who beat up the police officers posted at the entrance to the courtroom and whose mission was not to let anyone in. Furious at not having access to the courtroom, several individuals violently molested the officials. One of them had four knocked out teeth, reports Progress.
Two men were arrested on Saturday morning, one of them was brought before the prosecution for an immediate appearance. He would already be known to the police.
Finally, the identity group Les Remparts, which has taken up the death of Axelle Dorier several times, unfurled a banner outside the courthouse to denounce the verdict. On a photo posted on their Twitter account, one could read “Youcef, Mohamed, assassins of my people”.
