An altercation between a policeman, who was not on duty, and two people on Monday in Marseilles resulted in two injuries: one of the people involved was shot and the policeman himself the victim of a blow, we learned from a police source. The two injured were taken to hospital and their vital prognosis is not engaged, the emergency services told AFP.
The facts took place in a street in the center of Marseille, around 11:45 a.m. “There was an altercation between a plainclothes policeman, who was off duty, and two people,” the police source said. “At least one shot was fired with the policeman’s weapon” in circumstances yet to be clarified, she added. One person involved in the altercation was injured in the shoulder by the bullet fired. The policeman, who received a blow, was also transported to the hospital, according to this police source and the emergency services.
