Two security guards at a shopping center were injured, one seriously, by gunfire during the night from Friday to Saturday in Mont-Dore, in the suburbs of Nouméa, the prosecutor told AFP. the Yves Dupas Republic.
“An investigation carried out by the Nouméa research section is underway following violence against two security agents,” he declared. According to the prosecutor, “a first victim is seriously injured and the second more lightly”.

The events occurred two days after a first attempt by the police to clear and secure the main traffic route of Mont-Dore.

In a press release posted on social networks, the Mondorian Citizen Association specifies that “the road is still blocked” near Saint-Louis, cutting off all access to the capital and making it difficult to supply certain businesses.
The association also notes that “the dams have become stronger around Mont-Dore and that crossing these dams is increasingly distressing”.
In a press release, the supermarket near which the events took place, which is one of the main ones in the area, indicated that it would remain closed until further notice.
