Judicial information has been opened against X for “attempted homicide” on two gendarmes injured during a refusal to comply at the home of a famous British crook in Vidaillat (Creuse), announced Tuesday the public prosecutor of Gueret.
Thursday afternoon, two gendarmes were “severely injured”, during a check in a dog breeding run by a British couple, by the Departmental Directorate of Employment, Labor, Solidarity and Protection of Populations (DETSPP).
A suspicious 50-year-old man
While the latter were asking one of the spouses to move to the nearest brigade”, the 51-year-old man started his vehicle, an Audi A3, then hit the soldiers before fleeing. One of them suffers from an open fracture in the nose. They were prescribed 21 and six days of ITT.
“The driver of the vehicle that hit the two gendarmes has not, at present, been arrested”, writes the public prosecutor of Guéret Alexandra Pethieu in a press release.
The man, still on the run, is far from unknown. This is Robert Hendy-Freegard, a British crook hero of a documentary “The Puppetmaster: lessons in manipulation”, broadcast on Netflix since the beginning of the year and a fiction film, “Rogue Agent”, with James Norton and Gemma Arterton, also on Netflix.
A scammer with a criminal record
In 2005, Robert Hendy-Freegard was sentenced by British justice to life imprisonment for kidnapping, deception, theft from students and women, from whom he had extracted a total of more than a million pounds, in notably posing as a spy for MI5, the British secret service.
He was released in 2009 after an appeals court overturned the kidnapping conviction.
The investigation carried out by the research section of Limoges was entrusted to the pole of the instruction of the judicial court of Limoges, specified the magistrate, who relinquished the file in favor of the public prosecutor of Limoges.
