two garbage collectors attacked by motorists in Marseille

Two waste collection agents in Marseille were attacked Thursday evening while they were moving in the La Sauvagère sector. It was around 9 p.m. when a motorist and his passenger, blocked behind, came down to attack them.

Equipped with a spanner, the attacker slightly injured the two officers in the head who were taken care of by the firefighters, said Provence. In the process, the Marseille garbage collectors exercised their right of withdrawal for the evening. The last four months had been marked by a series of strikes in the waste collection sector.

In a press release, Martine Vassal, the president of the metropolis, announced that she had “asked for a complaint to be filed”. This is the fourth assault on a metropolitan agent in twenty-four hours. On Wednesday, another garbage collector had been attacked, as well as an agent of the RTM, the public transport service, said the metropolis.
