The largest city in the world is called Chongqing and covers a gigantic area of 82,200 square kilometers.
That’s almost twice the size of Switzerland.
The city has a total population of over 31 million, of which around 11 million live in the city center.
Although the metropolis is so vast, it is slowly running into a space problem. With 500,000 new residents every year, it is considered one of the fastest growing cities in the world.
The rapid growth is also noticeable in the cityscape. Skyscrapers characterize the face of Chongqing and in some places a train runs through the middle of a residential building.
