Seven departments of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes are already on heatwave orange vigilance this Thursday (Ain, Rhône, Isère, the Loire, the Haute-Loire Savoie and Haute-Savoie), twelve new ones will be from this Friday at noon : Allier, Cantal, Puy-de-Dôme Doubs, Jura, Saône-et-Loire, Corrèze, Gers, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Tarn, and Tarn-et-Garonne.
Temperatures above 30 degrees are expected over a large part of the south of the country and as far as the Rhone Valley this Thursday, with peaks that can reach 35 to 37 degrees. And from the weekend, even warmer air will rise from the south, leading to the establishment of a heat dome. France should know in the coming days its most intense heat event of the summer and one of the latest on record announced Météo-France on Thursday.
