A phone call that changed everything? The presenters and the audience of the SR show “Flea Market” were really surprised by the latest episode. “TV Total” was actually behind the call.
Nobody expected that: The rather modest program “Flea Market” from Saarland Broadcasting took an unexpected turn last Saturday (December 11th). Many suspected “TV Total” was behind the action – is that true? There was clearing up on Wednesday evening (December 15, 2021).
As the name suggests, you can buy various used items in the “Flea Market” broadcast. On Saturday evening, among other things, were a typewriter, books and musical instruments. However, one phone call changed the course of the entire program.

The unusual call, which was received from around 16 minutes, caused a sensation and is still hotly debated online. “Mr. Schmidt”, as he introduced himself, first had an eye on a “schnapps car”, but it didn’t stop there. He was also interested in a bowl set and several typewriters.
Why would anyone want to buy all of this? Apparently his mother-in-law was on fire and the family is now trying to “bring this style back into her”. That makes many frown thoughtfully. But nobody expected the next step.
With the sentence “You know what, I’ll take everything”, he caused great astonishment not only among the audience. “It fits so well – and I’ll take the complete set, everything,” continued caller Mr. Schmidt.
Moderator Michael Friemel said in a speechless voice: “I didn’t have that either, that someone would buy the entire studio from under my bum”.
Is “TV Total” behind the unusual call?
An excerpt from the program can be found on the Instagram account of the moderator Michael Friemel. The video was liked hundreds of times and had the telltale headline: “Flea Market. Edition 12/11/21. Poof, puff, bang, the entire studio was bought empty. After 20 years it is finally ready for 8.15 p.m. “
Many fans suspected that this was a reference to “TV Total”. The chosen wording “puff, paff, peng” was strongly reminiscent of the TV Total presenter Sebastian Pufpaff. Michael also left Friemel with the “SZ” announced that the caller, Mr. Schmidt, sounded very much like Sebastian Pufpaff.

And the fans should be right: there was clarification on the show on Wednesday evening (December 15). Pufpaff called the SR broadcast himself, chatted moderator Friemel until he finally threw him off the line.
After all: the schnapps car and typewriter had actually found their way into the TV Total studio. Much to the delight of the fans. One wrote about on Twitter: “That was the best thing Puffi has ever done.” (Sai / sku)
