The broadcaster RTL is continuing its new series “Dünentod – A North Sea Crime” with three more films. The unlikely investigator duo Femke Folkmer and Tjark Wolf find themselves in dangerous situations.

The wildly romantic coast of East Frisia is the backdrop for the completely unromantic stories about the new RTL investigator duo Femke Folkmer and Tjark Wolf. The series “Dune Death – A North Sea Crime Story with the main actors Pia Barucki and Hendrik Duryn continues with three new episodes. The film kicks off on Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. with the film “Death on the Sea”, based on the novel “Dünenkiller” by author Sven Koch.

Inspector Tjark Wolf, who seems a bit rough but quite sensitive, has his own, brisk investigative methods. His young, ambitious colleague Femke Folkmer, who has just switched to the police department, sometimes has a hard time with this. In this respect, the two clash from time to time. Ultimately, however, they value each other and do not shy away from risky actions when it comes to helping each other out of difficult situations.

The crime series is set in the idyllic but fictional town of Werlesiel. It is modeled on East Frisian coastal villages and represents settlements along the coastline from Wilhelmshaven via Horumersiel, Neuharlingersiel and Bensersiel to Norddeich, reports RTL.

A yacht with dead people, a woman covered in blood

A yacht with a dead man on board is adrift in the North Sea. It is a young woman who calls the emergency number covered in blood. What happened on the boat? The woman doesn’t speak and tries to escape the hospital. Did she stab the man? Was she the attacker or did she defend herself against an attack by the man? Apparently the woman worked as a prostitute. The dead man was a banker and involved in dubious transactions.

What the detectives don’t yet know: Two killers have been assigned to kill the young woman – who, however, are a little reminiscent of the clumsy crooks from the movie “Home Alone.” Tjark Wolf finds the killers in front of the woman’s hospital room at the last second, and the men are able to escape. The inspector hides the woman and not only gets into trouble with his colleague Femke Folkmer. His own life is in danger.

Even if some of the dialogue still comes across as a bit wooden: “Dünentod” is a promising crime series with interesting characters, unusual cases – and with development potential. The excitement continues on January 30th with the film “Falsches Spiel” and on February 6th with “The Woman on the Beach”.
