The north beats the south. This is how you can summarize yesterday’s television evening in terms of quotas.

The ZDF series “Nord Nord Mord” had the best audience rating on Monday evening. 8.21 million (26.3 percent) switched on the new episode “Sievers and the Silent Night” from 8.15 p.m.

The Sylt TV investigators Carl Sievers (Peter Heinrich Brix), Ina Behrendsen (Julia Brendler) and Hinnerk Feldmann (Oliver Wnuk) were on the track of false Santa Clauses this time.

The first also showed a regional thriller at prime time. But the Bayern Schwank “Leberkäsjunkie” with Sebastian Bezzel, Simon Schwarz and Lisa Maria Potthoff had a harder time. An average of 3.29 million (10.6 percent) watched the repeat of the film from 2019, which was shown on the first in summer 2020.

However, that was still a good value compared to the crash of the ARD series «Legal Affairs». The miniseries with Lavinia Wilson about a media lawyer had already been unable to use the boost from the Munich “crime scene” at the start on late Sunday evening. On Monday from 9.45 p.m., “Legal Affairs” sounded out even more room downwards with 1.39 million (5.3 percent). Even ZDFneo had a bigger audience.

Back to prime time: The RTL Christmas special of the quiz show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” with Günther Jauch brought 3.63 million (13.4 percent) into the house from 8.15 p.m. The fantasy film “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter attracted 1.24 million (4.2 percent) to Sat.1. Meanwhile, ZDFneo broadcast the British thriller “Inspector Barnaby: Die verfluchte 9” with Neil Dudgeon and Nick Hendrix, 1.03 million (3.3 percent) wanted to see it. Subsequently, the episode “Inspector Barnaby: Murder according to the old recipe” reached 1.53 million (6.6 percent) from 9.45pm.

The Vox documentary «Goodbye Germany! The emigrants »watched 1.00 million (3.3 percent). The cartoon series “The Simpsons” on ProSieben saw 760,000 people (2.4 percent). The dating show “Adam sucht Eva” on RTLzwei had 730,000 viewers (2.4 percent).
